Thanks to all of you that gave me the advice to "take the plunge".  One
point rang out loud and clear --  The Piano.  It is true that the nicest
player rebuild job is wasted if the old piano is in need of work.  I
have discovered I will have to do service/tuning work on regular pianos.
I have tuned since I was 14 so it's not new to me.  In the mean time, in
addition to service work, I am going to try to rebuild one at a time for
sale.  They will have new strings, pins as tight as new,  a solid
soundboard and  a new finish on the plate. The original parts that
remain will have to pass the test or be replaced.  These pianos will
not be as cheap as the casual "rebuilder" who will offer a well rebuilt
player, with a dead sounding piano at it's core, but my goal will be a
piano that sounds as good as it's design will permit, and a tight
efficient player action.  The last thing I want is my restored pianos
to sound "old".  I may not sell many , but the ones that do I know
will last for years.  You can certainly buy one of these for less than
a good quality new piano.  Thanks for the roll orders. I still have
some left and there will be new titles coming out soon.
