Dulcitone 'Piano'
By Jim Heyworth

Hello to all in MMD Land. First of all, my apologies because a
Dulcitone is not an automatic instrument.

Nevertheless it is similar in many ways to a piano, so somebody out
there may have met one along the way. Basically it is a small piano-
like, 61-note, small keyboard instrument with a sort of upside-down
grand-like action that plays a set of tuning forks. It appears to be
somewhat cheaply built and could have been made around the turn of the
century.

Now that I found one at a "really good price" I have to figure out how
best to repair/restore it.

I would be delighted to hear from anyone who has worked on one of these
instruments or who knows of a source of usable information on repair or
restoration.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Heyworth,
Sechelt, B.C., Canada

[ There are "Keyboard Techs" who specialize in maintaining portable
[ piano-like instruments. The Dulcitone resembles both the Wurlitzer
[ and Rhodes portable 'pianos' made in the 50's, and which still
[ have a cult following them. Ask at a cosmopolitan music store.
