Seek Recordo Rolls to Recut
By Bob Billings

Craig Brougher's plea for a copy of "ILO" to recut found a copy in our
collection. I have offered it to him for recutting.

I had not thought of posting a similar plea for some rolls we would
like to recut -- Thanks for the idea, Craig!

My wife, Ginny, and I have been collecting Recordo (also known as
Imperial Automatic Electric) rolls for many years, and between us and
Selmer Nielsen have rooted out most of the easily found rolls in the
main sequence. These are the rolls made originally by Imperial, then
Recordo, then finally QRS Recordo.

There are 1811 rolls in the sequence, and we of course are trying to
find a copy of every one and at least borrow copies to make recuts.
We'll never get to that goal, but it's fun trying.

If any of you have Recordo rolls in your collections, we'd like to know
the numbers - no need for the titles. If you have any that we have not
seen yet, we'd like to work out some way to copy them. I suspect that
many of the missing ones are in collections as 88 note-ers. Some, of
course, are so dreadful that only by luck would they survive.

Just for starters, here are some tasty titles that we'd like to find in
someone's collection.

  61560 Livery Stable Blues
  62490 Ringtail Blues
  63490 Coal Man Blues
  64780 Hula Blues

Hoping to hear from many of you!

Bob Billings
