Playing Reproducing Rolls on a Pumper
By Gary Rasmussen

You asked if reproducing rolls can be played on a regular player
piano. I have played Ampico rolls on a pumper and Duo Art pianos (in
non Duo Art mode) and vice versa many times with no problems.

What you need to do is to take some tape, such as Scotch Magic
Transparent Tape, and cover the holes on both ends of your tracker bar.
If yours is a normal 88 note tracker, I would think covering the last
four holes on both ends should do it. This will prevent the
reproducing coding on the reproducing rolls from playing those notes.

I think this would make any reproducer rolls play on your piano in your
application without a problem. Of course, you will need to add your
own expression!
