I would like to thank all of you for your help with my question.
I will give all of your suggestions to my father.  My father has several
players to rebuild and as soon as he remember what types they are I
will probably ask for your help in finding the manuals for them.  They
have four more to rebuild.  Again thanks for your help.  I am really
learning a lot from all of you.
