MIDI Control for Deagan Unaphon
By Stephen Kent Goodman

Dear Electronic MMDers: I recently received an assignment to MIDI-fy
and score for the infamous Deagon Unaphon. My question is, what are
the switches used that can input from the Octet or Devtronics units and
switch the 24 volt dc circuits needed to play each note? Would these
be a similar type of switch that is used on the MIDI adaptation of a
Violano?

The Unaphon uses two 12-volt car batteries which provide the power to 48
reiterating solenoids that strike tuned bells. Any suggestions for
hardware would be greatly appreciated.

[ Can you measure the resistance of the solenoid coil, Steve? This
[ will establish the current rating of the switch device. -- Robbie
