Value of Reproducing Pianos in UK
By Brian Chesters

It would seem that I upset a few when I said recently that the value of
reproducing player-pianos was falling here in the UK. Okay, here is
more proof, if required.

Yesterday, a Weber upright Duo-Art in good unrestored condition, along
with 20 Duo-Art rolls, went to auction in Norwich. It had the big steam
boat triple exhauster pump. I would normally have bought it but my
good friend who lives in Newbury in Berkshire, who has a standard pumper,
was on the lookout for one. He bought it for 250 GB pounds only.

I reminded him that the first reproducing player I bought was identical
to this. It was in 1976 and it cost me more than 250 pounds then.
I rest my case.
