Music Roll Data Base
By Glenn Thomas

Ian McDonald asked about software and creation of music roll
data bases. About a year ago, I posted a similar message and got
practically no replies. So I looked at various options and built my
own. I use Microsoft Access. It's easy to use, customize, and lends
itself perfectly to a music roll data base. I use fields for index or
sort no, date of entry, Roll Co., Roll No, Original Roll Co., Original
Roll No, Roll type, Title, Style, Player, Composer, Quality code,
Condition code, comments.

The program and the many fields provide infinite ways to sort and
create data. Its absolutely invaluable for keeping track of my over
3000 88n and reproducing rolls, and several hundred A, G, and Wurlitzer
APP rolls. To date, I have most of the single tune rolls entered, but
have yet to tackle the coin piano rolls.

I would be happy to share additional details with anyone by request.
