Artecho Angelus Action
By Larry Fisher, forwarded

Hi all, I've had a sudden surge in player work recently. I think
maybe a local tech has thrown in the towel on players. After being in
this business for over 25 years, and never seeing a Artecho Angelus, I
have recently seen two of them. One that needs some attention is in a
Hallet & Davis grand. If anyone has any knowledge of the following,
I'd appreciate a response via direct email:

    belt size 3/8 X ??? (it's missing)

The slider tube looks like it had a seal of some sort on it made out of
leather. The leather is dry and rapidly turning to powder. Do I
simply re-wrap this "bushing" with similar dimension leather, or is
there a commercially available replacement??

The owner has the original owner's manual in PRISTINE condition. This
publication is a rare bird indeed. He also has sales brochures listing
the prices of these instruments along with a picture of each. His
particular model listed for $2350. Is pursuing the reprint of these
worth anyone's desires?

Does anyone know the proper hammer dimensions for this piano? As the
service call progressed, I found myself pinched for time, plus a raging
cold under the suppression of drugs didn't help my thought processes at
all. I measured the hammer through the strings with out pulling the
action and got a 2 1/8" hammer from tip to hammer shank center. Does
that conform to specs?

Finally, I know the size of the piano usually dictates the weight of
the hammer, however, the fact that it's a player could dictate the use
of a heavier, and hopefully, longer lasting hammer. Comments?
