I recently saw in a private location a very curious cylinder portative
barrel organ, with an inscription:

   White & Langshaw, Organ Builders No. 37 Old Street Square

About 20 keys, 4 registers, several tunes, a rather long case (2 feet),
and especially most of the pipes made all together in a way which was
used a very long time ago (but apparently such a building technique was
used too at the beginning of our century).  All these pipes are joined
together, two large planks forming two of the four sides of all pipes,
the two other sides being made of wooden separations between these
planks.

I have already seen some organs made like that, but they are quite
rare.  This organ was not in working order.

I know nothing about these White & Langshaw Organ Builders.  Does
anyone know if they were actual builders or only retailers, American or
English, what they produced, and when?  Many thanks for your answer.
