Identifying Ignaz Blasius Bruder Organs
By Matthew Caulfield

Wolfgang Brommer was asking for reports of sightings of organs by Ignaz
B. Bruder, the founder of the Bruder dynasty. It occurred to me that,
while I can recognize an organ by Wilhelm Bruder, I have no idea what
one by Ignaz might look like.

I did not easily find a picture on the Jaeger & Brommer web site, so
I went to Herbert Juettemann's book, 'Waldkircher Dreh- und Jahr-
markt-Orgeln', where there are several pictures, color and monochrome,
of what turn out to be very distinctive and charming little cabinet
barrel organs, crammed with figures in a top center inset.

If these are what we should be looking for, it might be helpful if
Wolfgang could post a picture, as I am sure one would instantly
recognize an Ignaz B. B. product if he should see one. Sorry to
report that I haven't.

[ Good idea ! Wolfgang, if you will send JPEG photo images to us,
[ we will place them at the MMD web site, with your text, on a new
[ web page for "Ignaz Blasius Bruder Organs"! -- Robbie
