I wanted to add just a little about my first question, the Coinola
pipes I've been asked to make.  Oh, I can make them easy enough, but I
told Rudy that he may be trying to do something that isn't as easy as
it sounds.  You can't always take this and that, put them together, and
expect it to work.

He's got a standard-type player, nothing fancy, he hasn't told me the
maker.  He likes the sound of a piano and flutes, nothing more.  I told
him I'd ask about it from people who would know.  I did say that I know
that the standard 88-note roll wasn't designed to be used that way.

As I understand it, he wants to "T" off the treble, and the pipes would
be on all the time.  I explained that, I think that [nickelodeon] rolls
are done in such a way as to take into account the pipes and other
things; they don't just happen.  I believe he's going to need tons of
wind to make this project work.  I told him I really didn't know
anything at all about building from scratch, so to speak.

I've helped restore instruments that someone else constructed, but I
think there is a lot more to it than Rudy's thought of.  Thanks for any
help you might give.
