Hupfeld Vorsetzers
By John Wolff

In MMD 980122 John Phillips from Hobart replied to Rod Cornelius'
enquiry concerning Hupfeld Vorsetzers.

Although they are not exactly common, Michael Waters in Mildura
(Australia) has two of them: a 73-note and an 88-note. I had been
storing a quantity of 73-note Hupfeld "Claviola" themed rolls for many
years in the hope of one day finding an instrument to play them, or
someone who could use them.

The instruments must have been quite popular once, as several of the
boxes had labels from a major roll lending library. I was happy to
leave them all with Michael when I visited a year or so back. There
are a couple of pictures of the push-ups on his web page at

    http://www.ruralnet.net.au/~mwaters/pushup.html

Michael's been a bit quiet on the MMD lately, so I hope he doesn't mind
if I mention them.
