Sources of Old Magazines
By Terry Smythe

Marty Roenigk asks, "Does anyone out there know of a similar web site
for old magazines?"

Precious few. I too have frequently posted messages seeking copies of
Musical America from the teens and 20's, with almost nil response.
However, I did a quick search of the Liszt of Lists site and the few
that surfaced out of some 80,000 news groups and mailing lists were as
follows:

News Groups:

   fj.fleamarket.books <- skimpy
   alt.marketplace.books <- skimpy

And two mailing lists marginally related:

   Listname: antique-collect
   Contact person: njaa32a@prodigy.com
Description: Especially for those with an interest in antiques and
   collectibles.

   Listname: BOOK_ARTS-L
If you have any question about the BOOK_ARTS-L list, write to
the list owners at the generic address:

          BOOK_ARTS-L-request@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU

The following, found through Yahoo, might be of potential
interest:

   http://ephemera-king.com/
   http://www.amres.com/e-mall/mu.htm
   http://www.apex-ephemera.com/
   http://www.mint.net/antiques/catlist/magazine.html
   http://www.victoriana.com/antiques/books.html

Terry Smythe
