Introduction & Value of Victrola
By Matthew Wrensch

Greetings from Wisconsin, yes, Packerland! I tune, repair, and rebuild
pianos and player pianos.

As I was examining a player for a new customer she asked me to look at
a Victrola that they had. It seems to more or less work. (Probably
needs a good cleaning and appropriate lubrication, etc.) Can someone
give me an idea as to its value? It is a model VV 111, SN 6747. As in
the case of pianos, the serial number can be indexed to a manufacturing
date, right?

Any information that you wish to enlighten me with would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

P.S.: I work on players, Coinolas, reproducers, reed organs, roller
organs, etc. but not (yet) Victrolas.

[ Welcome to MMD, Matthew. I think the phonograph collectors in our
[ group will be happy to steer you toward their information sources.
[ Keep your eyes pealed for that rare Melville Clark piano which
[ has a player action _and_ a phonograph in the piano, and both are
 [ powered by a spring-motor! -- Robbie
