Cost of Complete Piano Restoration
By Bryan Cather

What should the full soundboard - out restoration of an 88-note player
cost (ballpark)? Completely rebuilding the instrument, inside and out?

Let's assume, for the sake of the question, that the ribs have pulled
away from the soundboard, the soundboard has several cracks, the plate
is in good shape, the bridges at intact but need re-pinning and
cleaning, the piano needs re-stringing, new hammers, action felts,
dampers, etc., new keytops, re-bushed keys, new keybed felts, action
regulation, etc., _in addition to rebuilding the player action_!

For the record, the player action is by Starr, and is complete. Again,
I'm not looking for a specific price, but sort of a ballpark figure so
I'll know where I'm going.

Thanks much and Happy Birthday MMD!
