Switch Arcing in Player Piano
By John A. Tuttle

Hi, While in the process of creating an 'on-and-hold' and 'auto-
shut-off' sequence for a player piano, I came across what might
become a problem. What I believe I need is the advice of an
electrical engineer.

The problem is the possible arcing that may occur inside a 125VAC/10A
microswitch used to hold the vacuum pump 'on'. The question is how best
to reduce surge current in the event the switch should open and close
quickly when unintentionally activated by say, a tear in the player
roll.

Thank-you in advance,

John A. Tuttle (john@player-care.com)
