Switch Arcing in Player Piano
By John A. Tuttle

Ho John, Thank-you very much for your helpful and concise information
and the link to Philips. I figured that an R-C network would solve the
problem but I can't remember the formulas and all my books have been
packed away for over 25 years. Further, the only situation that I
was/am concerned about _is_ the possibility of momentarily interrupting
current flow to the 'running' vacuum motor.

You have eased my fears in this regard, so it's not likely that I'll
have to be overly cautious. The microswitch can handle ten times the
'running current' of the motor. Start-up current can approach three
amperes, but a different switch (momentary on) is used for that
function.

Thanks again for your input,

John A. Tuttle
