Ordering Piano Supplies
By Larry Lobel

My statement on the subject seems to have caused a lot of strong
reactions. The dictionary definition of "fraud" is simply "deceit,
trickery; an intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another
to part with something of value." I don't think I misused the word,
nor did I intend to imply legal wrongdoing in this case. I believe
everyone benefits from straightforward and truthful dealing in all
situations, and I stand by what I wrote.

The real issue is morality, and it comes down to the Golden Rule: "Do
unto others as you would have others do unto you." Morality has a
purpose, and always has practical consequences. If the supply houses
are tricked into selling at wholesale prices to many people, the result
will be they'll have to raise prices to those in the trade, who'll then
have to raise prices to customers, etc.
