Hi All,  While building my Barrel Organ and writing my book I collected
a few music CDs.  My favorite of them all is a recording of Scott
Joplin.  I like to tease music collectors by telling them I have a
digital (DDD) of Scott Joplin.  When Scott Joplin played he was
sometimes on a reproducing piano and how was the music saved?  It was
saved as ones and zeros (BINARY).

A blank section of paper is a zero and a hole is a one.  So if you play
the roll (Digital Recording) on the same type piano,  presto a digital
recording of Scott Joplin.  Modern computers run on this old principal.
Old rug weaving looms read punched cards,  just like a street organ to
make  the patterns in the rug.   Here are some CDs below I found at the

I find the most mechanical instrument CDs at Tower Records in the
*classical* section.  The store in my area only gets a few per year
and they sell out fast.
