Solvent For Masking Tape Adhesive
By Dick Merchant

Mike Blackwell asked about something that would clean up an old masking
tape goo mess. Might try WD-40 which is more of a solvent than a lub-
ricant. It works well getting the goo off of things you buy at the
hardware store that is left by those little stick-on price stickers
quite well. I've never tried it on masking tape mess, but the stuff
seems quite harmless unless you try to lubricate something in a piano
action with it.

In fact, there's quit a list of stuff you don't want to try to
lubricate with it.
