Junod Case Returns From Refinishing
By Larry Greenfield

Earlier this year I let you all know that I obtained a Junod inter-
changeable cylinder music box; there are 4 cylinders, each 18-1/2
inches long with 6 tunes each. The case had several areas of veneer
separation and warping and upon closer inspection there were areas of
structural weakness. So, I turned to Ricky Diggs and his wife Joanna,
well-known music box wood restorers and refinishers.

After about three months they returned to me, two days ago, a beauti-
fully restored Junod case -- all new black lacquer and refinishing of the
veneer areas and structural reconstruction. I had the lacquer finish
as a semi-gloss to slightly dull so as not to look to new. Of course,
the Junod sounds better in its reborn case. They also did some work on
the bureau for my Paillard with 31 cylinders, which is also well done.
Just thought you'd like to know the status of the Junod and the
Paillard.

I will be showing the music boxes in about two weeks; if you would like
to see these two pieces please email me <musicbo@ibm.net>, and include
your phone number so I can call you and give you directions to the
showing. Thanks

Larry Greenfield & Carol Lalka
