Replacing Pins In Music Box Cylinders
By Albert de Boer

Here are at least two sources that do professional re-pinning of
cylinders and other repairs of music boxes:

  Nancy Fratti
  Panchronia Antiquities
  P.O.Box 210, Route 4
  Whitehall, NY, 12887-0210
  tel: 518-282-9770 (Mon-Sat, 9am-7pm)
  fax: 518-282-9800 (24 hrs)
  e-mail: Musicbox@sover.net

  DB Musical Restorations
  David & Carol Beck
  75 Waters Edge Lane
  Newnan, Georgia 30263
  tel: 770-253-1903
  fax: 770-253-7601

Both these will do an excellent job. Waiting time is 3 to 5 months.
Ask them to do the raking as well.

[ Bill Wineburgh also wrote with these same two names, and said:
 [
[> As an apprentice musical box restorer, I echo Dan Wilson's remarks.
[> It's best to have the work done by a trained professional or run
[> the risk of permanently ruining the cylinder.
