Restoration Materials in UK
By Julian Dyer

Following up Jonathan Holmes' enquiry yesterday. First: Good to hear
of another restorer in the UK ! A good source of repair materials
generally is

  Steve Cox,
  Laguna Rolls,
  Lagoon Road,
  Pagham,
  Bognor Regis,
  Sussex.
  Phone 01243 262041

Steve has a line in specially-made silicone rubber tubing, covering
all the usual sizes right up to about 1-1/2 inches. It's extruded, not
the cloth-wound stuff you get in black rubber from PPCo. It's actually
cheaper than the cloth-wound stuff, and I've used it for some years
now. It's brown and sort-of shiny, so not cosmetically quite the
thing, but it's good to use and seems very durable. Being more
flexible it's easier to work with in confined spaces.

Jonathan, are you interested in joining the Player Piano Group? We
produce directory of suppliers, etc., and can usually find someone to
help in this sort of situation.
