Exhauster Pump Pedal Linkage
By Peter Neilson

As much as I like my Standard player action, I have always been
annoyed by the mechanical design of the pedal linkage. There is
a floating pivot that causes a problem.

As the linkage ages and the bearings wear down, the resulting
sloppiness allows the floating pivot to wander sideways. This puts
a sideways force on all the linkage bearings, causing faster wear and
causing the pins (holding the linkage to the pedals and to the
exhauster bellows) to pop out.

The Standard is so common that I must not be the first with this
problem. Surely someone has a solution?
