Printing Words on Music Rolls
By Andy Taylor

Hi all. I am still working on the problem of printing words on rolls
-- it's easier said than done! My first thought was trying to trick
my old dot-matrix printer to do the job. I doubt that will work.

My problem with the printer is that, first, the advance on the
printer is wrong. The second problem is my computer always sees
the page breaks. I even made a small belt with letters out of adding
machine paper, scanned the whole thing, and tried to print it. The
computer would always print the image in a smaller scale, in addition
to the above problems.

So what I ended up with is a long combine belt suspended between two
pulleys, a ink roller and some -- are you ready for this? -- wooden
kitchen rolling pins! The whole contraption shows promise.

Now comes the problem of getting letters on the belt. I have this
almost worked out also. I had a small plastic label maker that
impresses letters on a self adhesive tape. this works well, but ...
the letters are a mirror image (backwards) !

Getting very close, and welcome any idea, please!

Best Regards
Andy & Chris Taylor
