Zilotone
By Beatrice Robertson

Hi Rick, If you would like to find a new home for your discs, I'd
sure like to buy them. The Zilotone is a neat little metal toy that
is a mechanical man who plays a metal xylophone (sort of). I don't
know when they were made, but my guess is 1930's. Hope someone can
fill that in for me.

The discs control both the position of the man (and his mallet) over
the correct note, and controls the up and down striking of the mallet.
All this is supposed play a tune. The problem with all of these
suppositions is that everything has to be perfectly aligned for the
music to sound like a song, and since the mallet is suspended on wires,
it easily gets out of adjustment. But it is certainly mechanical
music, and when it is in adjustment, sounds pretty good.

I'll get some photos and send them via email later today.
