Les Gets: Break-in at the Mechanical Music Museum

Excerpted from the article in "Dauphine Libere" of 6 June 1998.

Les Gets: About forty small rare objects, among their number some of
the most beautiful pieces of the museum's collection, disappeared along
with two animated scenes. During the night of Thursday-Friday, June 5,
1998, around 3:00 a.m., one or two teams of burglars made a clean sweep
of the beautiful pieces of the museum: their choices were mainly
directed towards approximately forty small objects prized by collectors
-- including an organ-playing automaton, musical gold watches, a
musical seal (item with movement that is worn around the neck), and
some clocks. The thieves removed from the wall two animated scenes,
which were so heavy that it took two people to remove them.

The list will be completed in the next few days. These objects are
some of the ones that were stolen.

If someone offers you one or several of these objects, don't buy them,
and please notify the Mechanical Music Museum.

VERY IMPORTANT - REWARD [OFFERED]
