Matching Pneumatic Size To Valve Size
By Andy Taylor

I think this has been discussed before, but thought I would ask
anyway. I am considering how big to make my set of pneumatics for
the stack I am building.

A: What is the formula for figuring the cubic-inch displacement
of a pneumatic?

B: Is there a 'set' minimum to solidly play a piano key?

C: Does the hinge and the span have an effect?

I have noticed that a pneumatic from a two-tier action, while narrower
than a pneumatic from a three-tier action, is also longer. So I suspect
the area would be about the same. That is just a rough guess.

I am using a 5/8" diameter valve, 3/4" valve hole and a 3/8" valve seat.

Almost confused
