Aluminum Regina Reproductions
By Joe Roesch

Many years ago (25-30?), the late Lloyd G. Kelley, a charter member
of the Musical Box Society and a prominent dealer/restorer, made
reproduction Reginas with aluminum parts. The combs were made by
Reuge in Ste.-Croix, Switzerland.

I don't know how many repros Kelley made or what sizes and styles he
produced. I think Nancy Fratti may still have some of the aluminum
parts (spring barrels, e.g.) among her supplies. To my almost certain
knowledge, the Regina Company never used aluminum in any of their
musical-box mechanisms, although I have seen at least one Reginaphone
with an aluminum horn that was apparently original.
