Tom Meijer and the Kitner 150 Roll
By Matthew Caulfield

I'm a big fan of Tom Meijer's arranging style. I have the excellent
style 165 roll he arranged (Mike Kitner's Eur-165-1), and Tom did the
restoration for me of 1 1/2 missing tunes on the newly recut roll 6609
that Mike Grant has just produced. I am more than pleased with the
result: Tom's additions harmonize so well with the rest of that roll,
while still being a cut above the other tunes in sparkle. He's a real
virtuoso. His skilful and judicious use of counter-melody is something
you just have to admire, especially after listening to Wurlitzer, which
uses too little, and B.A.B./J. Lawrence Cook, which uses far too much.

This is all just to add to Mike Kitner's announcement of his third (?)
Meijer style 150 roll that "you can't go wrong with a Tom Meijer song."
