Artizan Animated Band Organ
By Beatrice Robertson

Now that I have your attention... Those of you that know me also know
that I am a music box type: one of those folks that the band organ
people call the "tinkle, tinkle" types.

However, my husband decided we needed a band organ, so we now have
a small Artizan that plays Wurlitzer 125 rolls. It plays reasonably
well, probably could use a complete restoration, and doesn't rewind.
(Can someone explain what it is supposed to do on rewind?) However,
that is not my current question.

I have the facade off the organ, and while it plays, it entertains
us as we watch. It sort of reminds me of the organ in Disney's "Snow
White." Each time a pipe plays (some of them, not all) it sort of
levitates up and back down. While this is greatly amusing to watch,
I suspect that this is really not how it is supposed to work.

I think the pipes are supposed to be friction fit. This one has
obviously lost its friction. I would appreciate suggestions on a
solution. Are the pipes supposed to be glued in? If so, what type
glue is best to use. If not, then what?

I'll trade you organ folks -- I'll answer music box questions
(when I can) if you'll help me with my organ. I want to harass
the neighborhood with it by Christmas.

Does anyone have a 125 roll with Christmas music that I can buy?
Waiting for your response!
