Seek 3-Chime Ships Navigational Whistle
By Don Elbers

One of my clients desires to purchase an old whistle: a ship's navi-
gational whistle. Preference would be for one with 3 compartments
(sounding 3 notes) cast into one bell; however, 3 separate whistles on
a manifold may be of interest. Steam will be supplied at a pressure of
150 psig with an available flow rate of 3,450 lbs/hr from a 2-inch NPT
[National Pipe Thread] header. Valving is not critical, but an
integral valve would be nice.

We are looking for a large whistle. The longest compartment or great-
est speaking length should be almost 2 feet. We could fabricate an
appropriate whistle but would prefer something more authentic.

If anyone has a whistle that they would want to sell, or knows where
one is located, please reply.

Thanks,

Don C. Elbers
