Peterson Autostrobe Stretch Profiles
By Mike Haydon

I am considering the purchase of a Peterson Autostrobe 490st to replace
my aging but effective Conn Strobotuner. Peterson was kind enough to
send me the manual, which contains tabular date on the different
stretch profiles programmed into the device.

My question is: have any of you MMD'ers compared these stock tunings
to the stretch actually measured on a piano, and if so, how accurate
are they?

The only reason I am replacing "Brown Bess" is that her motor bearings
are worn to the extent she is no longer accurate, and I know of no
spare parts source.

Keep those cards and letters coming!
