Restoring Music Box Art Glass
By Don Bugh

Christmas came early to my house. I purchased a Kalliope Disk Music
Box from a local antique dealer. It is a coin-op upright model with
saucer bells and plays 20-1/2" disks. It has an original gallery and
storage bin and plays beautifully. However, the original glass is
badly cracked.

I would appreciate any advice on the best way to restore the glass
and gold design to make it look as original as possible. I assume
that I need to find someone that can do reverse glass painting. Any
recommendations?

Also, the twelve disks that I received with the box are relatively new.
Is anyone currently making reproduction disks for Kalliopes? I also
would be interested in purchasing original disks if anyone has any for
sale.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.
