I occasionally search the net for software purporting to convert
a WAV file to MIDI.  Up to now the programs have been pretty lousy.
However, yesterday I found a newly released Russian program called
"Akoff Music Composer" which shows some promise.  There is a
downloadable demo and the shareware fee is $20.  The web site is

I've always said that psychiatry is now where surgery was when
barbers did it.  The same is true of WAV-to-MIDI programs.  However,
this program seems to be on the right track and is worth a look.
