Source of Wurlitzer Style 150 Rolls
By Matthew Caulfield

Back when he was retailing Play-Rite's recut band organ rolls, Ray Siou
offered roll 13309 as a composite 12-tune roll with roll 13312, and
roll 13285 as a composite with 13287. Maybe you can find someone who
wants to sell his used copy of 13309-13312 or 13285-13287.

Personally speaking, I think you can find earlier style 150 rolls that
are a lot better musically than those '50's-era rock-and-roll ones --
though people will not necessarily recognize the tune titles.

The days of $15 band organ rolls disappeared when Ray left the
business, as he kept warning his customers would happen. I suggest
that you contact Mike Grant, Columbia City, Ind., for his list of
currently available 150 rolls; but be prepared to pay about twice what
Ray charged. Mike's phone number is 219-248-8288; best call in the
evening.

Bill Luca in Salem, Mass., may still have some 150's left, and Mike
Kitner may also have some of his wonderful European-style 150's
arranged by virtuoso arranger Tom Meijer, though they are very pricey
(but well worth the money).
