Seeburg G Pipes
By Art Reblitz

The J. P. Seeburg Piano Company never made a Style G orchestrion with
two ranks of flute pipes. The G referred to by Craig Brougher (which
was once displayed in "Front Street" in Dodge City, Kansas) had two
ranks of flutes, but at least one rank in that G had been replaced
after the piano left the factory.

With properly voicing and regulation, and playing on the original air
pressure at the intended pitch, the original wooden violin pipes used
in Seeburg and most other American orchestrions sound wonderful! They
are keen and bright, with a bowed-string "edge." Pipes that are too
breathy, airy, squeaky or harsh simply haven't been regulated
correctly.
