To all:  WCLV, the classical radio station for which I do weekend
service, broadcasts a 2-hour long jazz program beginning Saturday night
at 11:00 P.M. EST.  Access at http://www.wclv.com/

As the "board DJ" I run the program, and I noticed the re-appearance
(in splendid sound) of the dim and muddy soundtrack of the film,
"Anatomy of a Murder" (1959, Otto Preminger).  Excellent flick, but
Ellington's distinguished contributions were almost entirely obscured.

Now that's been remedied in remastering, and the original 40 minutes
of the first release years ago, have been augmented with 13 additional
bonus tracks (previously unreleased).  It's Columbia (Legacy) CK-65569

I want to recommend it to those of you who respond to "big band",
with solo contributions by all the "regulars": Paul Gonsalves, Ray
Nance, Harry  Carney, Johnny Hodges, Clark Terry et al., and of course
the Duke himself.

It's a fitting (and overdue) tribute to the great man in his 100th,
containing some of his most original non-vocal writing.  Outstanding.

I was just a classical dude with one string, didn't you? ;)
