Chein Pianolodeon
By Brian Chesters

Hi all,

I read with interest the note about the Chein Pianolodeon. I have one in
stock which looks like a new one. It has the original carton that it was
shipped in, The original instructions, the original guarantee and a small
display box with six rolls. It looks as though it has never been played. I
haven't tried it yet as here in the UK we operate on 240 volts and I need a
gizmo to step it down to 110 volts.

Question... Will the fact that our supply is 50 hertz have any effect
as the motor will be a 60 hertz?

BTW, it is for sale of course.

[ If the motor is a "series-wound brush motor" it may run just fine.
[ Its more likely that its an induction motor, in which case it will
[ run slow (by the ratio of 50/60) and it will likely run hot. This
[ may be acceptable for testing, but I'd be cautious... -- Jody
