Packaging Concert Organ Rollers
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, A question for Richard Dutton and any others that might
know. I was relocating my collection of Concert Organ rollers today
and I thought of a question that I don't believe I have seen addressed
before.

How were the rollers originally packed for shipping? Does anyone have
an original container? Did they come in a cardboard tube like Edison
cylinders? Did they come in a toothpaste type box like PianoLodeon
rolls? Did they come in a small piano roll like box?

Were they wrapped in a sheet of paper? If so, was the paper plain or
printed? Were they shipped with no protection? Did anyone make a
storage case for them like those made for cylinder records? I guess it
is more than one question.

I store mine on end with chipboard dividers between the pins to prevent
damage to the pins.

Thanks,

Jack Conway
