Unknown 12-Tune Music Box
By Vic Marsilio

Greetings, Everyone! I found a music box in my Grandmother's attic
that still plays beautifully! Unfortunately, there is very little on
the unit to identify it. I've listed everything I can regarding the
music box for your review, comments, suggestions as to value, age,
manufacture, etc. Here are the statistics on the music box:

The outside is a rosewood box measuring 16-3/4" L x 7-3/4" W x 6" H.
It has a drawing on the lid of manuscript paper with ivy and an old
horn instrument. The inside is a 7-1/2" brass cylinder with 12 aires
to choose from, it was set up to play one song for a penny or all 12
songs at a time. It was made in Switzerland with a number of 71933 on
the song list. The unit still plays, it reminds me of an old jewelry
box -- it has the same song mechanism.

The twelve songs listed are:

 1. Mikado / For He's Gone / Sullivan
 2. Boccacio / March / Suppe'
 3. Boy Cesas / Mazurka / Dellinger
 4. In the Gloaming / Ballad / Harkisson
 5. Le Lire, la Victoire / March / Cianne
 6. The Gondoliers / Gavotte / Sullivan
 7. Mocking Bird / Cyrobe
 8. Racquer / Galop / Simmons
 9. Climbing up the Golden Stairs / Heiser
10. Home Sweet Home / Sinclair
11. Kalie Molly / West
12. Gypsy Baron / Waltz / Straus

Any and all comments are appreciated! You can reply to me personally
if you wish: <Victorgan@Aol.com>. Thank-you in advance!
