Music Box Plays Self-Punched Paper Strips
By Hauke Marxsen

Hi Manda, In my collection I have a similar movement. Please look
at the attached photo. My movement has a 20-note comb, a crank and
so on. Is yours of the same type?

I think it's from Japan -- maybe from Sankyo, but I am not sure.
A mail order company in Germany (SELVA) is selling a movement for
66.90 DM (38 US $) and a stripe for 5.20 DM (3 US $). In the
SELVA catalog they offer unpunched stripes for these songs:

  Forellenquintett von Schubert
  Freude, schoener Goetterfunke
  Guten Abend, gute Nacht
  Leierkastenmelodie
  Menuett / J.S. Bach
  Pour Adeline
  Stille Nacht (Silent Night)

If you are interested in this, I will study the catalog for the
address, selling conditions, order numbers and so on.

I have just found out that they want a minimum order of 200 DM
(110 US $) from a customer in a foreign country.

Regards from Hauke Marxsen (Germany)
