After I heard that the sun-glasses for eclipse viewing were sold out to
crowds of customers, the last ones to the strongest of them, I did not
try to get one.

I looked through two 5-1/2-inch floppy discs.  It works well, you can
try it on the next eclipse.  Don't look through the middle holes, but
through the writing area.  ;-)
