FS: Oak Case Marshall & Wendell Player Piano
By Dave Smith

Several years ago I was frustrated with the removing of old tubing from
a tracker bar, and as John Tuttle suggested in yesterdays MMD, I used
my heat gun to assist. It worked wonderfully but, contrary to John's
posting, the heat gun _will_ melt the solder and you will remove tubing
_and_ nipples if not very careful.

I shelved the heat gun and returned to the old stand-by's of removing
tubing.

Dave Smith

[ The melting temperature of solder varies widely depending upon the
[ lead/tin alloy ratio. Scrape a little solder from the old instrument
[ and make a comparison test with a soldering iron. -- Robbie
