Hi Jody,

Can you tell us what program you are referring to. We've tried several
in the past and have always been unhappy with the lack of accuracy.

Did you test the program using photocopied or original sheet music?

Thanks,

Kelly Goodman

[ I think that the higher the scan resolution the better off your
[ results will be. Good originals (whether copies or not) help
 [ a lot.
 [
[ Two products from Musitek may fit the bill. PianoScan: "Turn Your
[ Scanner Into a Player Piano for just $99 !" can be found at:
 [ http://www.musitek.com/piano.html
[ The other product from Musitek does more staffs at once:
 [ http://www.musitek.com/midiscan.html
[ A demo version of it can be downloaded for free.
 [
[ Other leads are: OMaR - Optical Music Recognition:
 [ http://personal.lig.bellsouth.net/lig/b/d/bduncan7/projects.html
[ Its an apparently unfinished personal project of Brian Duncan.
 [
[ Also "SharpEye Music OCR v1.07 for Windows 95/98/NT" which can be
 [ downloaded from:
 [ http://www.visiv.co.uk/
[ There is a $50 US shareware fee, but it appears that you can download
[ it and try it out for free.
