Seek A-rolls and G-rolls
By Tom Grace

Hey everyone -- I was just wondering if anyone knows who is cutting
quality A and G rolls. I know that Dave Miner has some in stock, but
who else is out there? I have heard rumors that Dave Ramey in Chicago
cuts some rolls and so does Don Rand, I have not been able to reach
either.

I would like to boost up my collection before all the sources dry up.
After seeing such high prices on a recent eBay auction, one starts to
get worried. A Play-Rite recut went for over $70.00 alone! So if
anyone out there knows of some good sources, please list them to the
MMD. Thanks

Thomas Grace

[ Six-per-inch rolls are perforated by John Malone (Play-Rite),
[ Don Rand (Clark), and Carl Lambie, but none of these folks
[ usually keeps a big stock on hand for sale, preferring to let
[ the "re-cut producers" handle sales. Among them are Dave Miner,
[ Paul Gottschalk, and Dave Ramey. See the MMD Sources site,
[ http://mmd.foxtail.com/Sources/ The folks recutting piano rolls
[ also have occasional nickelodeon roll offerings: check the Archives
[ for articles by Frank Himpsl, Rob DeLand, and composer/arranger
[ George Bogatko, and be prepared to pay about the same price as
 [ at eBay! -- Robbie
