Source of Unimat Lathe Parts
By Joe Orens

Several years ago Emco Maier USA sold their non-CNC machine tool
operations to Blue Ridge Machinery, who now imports the Unimat 4
lathe and accessories:

Blue Ridge Machinery and Tools, Inc.
  2905 Putnam Avenue
  P.O. Box 536
  Hurricane, WV 25526
  (800) 872-6500

Most Unimat 4 accessories can be used on the Unimat 3. Unfortunately,
the earlier Unimat SL1000 and DB200 lathes have a different spindle
thread than the Unimat 3 and Unimat 4.

The part number for the Unimat 4 3-Jaw universal standard chuck is
171.420 and the part number for the Unimat 4 3-Jaw heavy duty chuck is
171.310. Several years ago the price for 171.420 was $170.00 and the
price for 171.310 was $210.00. The final part number for the Unimat 3
3-Jaw lathe chuck was 171.410, and when supplied by Emco Maier USA
listed for $85.00.

Unimat lathes and accessories of all vintages are also regularly listed
on eBay auction.
