"Roll 'Em Girls, Roll 'Em"
By Robbie Rhodes

I found this song title in my collection, published by different
companies with different brands (labels):

"Roll 'Em Girls (Roll Your Own)", copyright Joe Morris Music Co., 1925

Refrain:

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em girls, go a-head and roll 'em.
Roll 'em down and show your pret-ty knees,
Roll 'em girls, roll 'em, ev-'ry bod-y roll 'em
Roll 'em high or low just as you please

  Don't let peo-ple tell you that it's shock-ing,
Paint your own Sweet-ie's pic-ture on your stock-ing
Laff at Ma, laff at Pa, give them all the Ha-Ha,
Roll 'em girl-ies, roll 'em, roll your own.

No composer credit is given, but Joe Morris composed and published
several 'party songs' like this. The two rolls I have of "Roll 'Em
Girls" are

Supertone 5676, played by Marg Thompson
  Red Star X5932

The label says that the Red Star roll was sold by Boston Store of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The appearance and music arrangement strongly
suggest that "Red Star" was manufactured by QRS, and the song played
by J. Lawrence Cook. The Supertone product was made by Capitol.

What other labels also published "Roll 'Em Girls"? It might have been
published by QRS or Imperial, and it might also appear on nickelodeon
rolls.
