Converting Pianomation CD to MIDI
By D. L. Bullock

First of all the Pianomation does not play from CD-ROM normally. The
readily available CDs for Pianomation are standard audio CDs with
piano control data on one channel. The other channel is either blank
or has accompaniment in an orchestral performance. The Pianomation
system converts that audio information to a form that can be played
by the expression and note system of solenoid drivers. The MIDI
information may be accessed by playing the CD through the piano and
using a MIDI cable from the MIDI out plug to your storage device.

All the music prerecorded on CD is also available on floppy disk in
MIDI format for those people who wish to run the Pianomation from a
MIDI sequencer. The Pianomation MIDI system was designed to play
everybody's software and will play from absolutely any digital or
analog storage device. It can be played from: MIDI Sequencer, Hard
disk, Zip Disk, Floppy Disk, Audio CD, CD-ROM, Cassette tape, reel to
reel, VCR, Beta or VHS. The only catch is that you may need to copy
the information to the device you wish to use if a prerecorded version
is not available.
